Works of the San Lucas Pavilion are already finished. We will shortly upload more photos of the result of this bald concrete structure built amid the pine tree forest. In the mean time we leave you with a teaser. We hope you enjoy it.
You may find more information about the project on our website.
Next Tuesday 13th May, the book Matterscapes will be presented at the ETSAM.
The book has been edited by Antonio Juárez, Arturo Blanco, Fernando Rodríguez and Arantza Ozaeta, and will be presented by Luis Maldonado, ETSAM Director Federico Soriano, DPA Director, together with the director of the TRLAb Antonio Juárez.
Matterscapes is the first volume of a series of books regarding key issues in architectural design and critic research, compiling the work and the research of the Teaching Resources Lab / ETSAM UPM.
FRPO, together with Selgascano, have participated in what could possibly be the most exciting architecture competition in Spain in 2014: the construction of the Spanish Pavilion for the 2015 Expo Milano, under the heading “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Being Spanish gastronomy and agriculture so well known, the project is based on the straight forward concept of building a big greenhouse. An intricate ramp leads you through suspended balloon-like volumes, where Spanish products are on show. The outcome reminded us of a spatial still-life.
Our website will soon be updated with much more information and images of this project.
Pablo Oriol and Fernando Rodríguez took part in the ‘IndustrializaTE’ seminar held at Madrid’s COA (Official College of Architects). The main subject of these sessions was industrial efficiency in architecture. Their lecture dealt with the construction and design process of the MO House.
